Kinetic

“Kinetic” features movement and energy, not unlike a Pinwheel. If you look closely, you can see a variety of shapes too; a square, two rectangles and two very slim rectangles. Each section is made up of a variety of tints, tones and shades of one colour and then repeated around the canvas. A variety of metallic ribbon threads and silk Perle Cotton used in this piece adding sparkle and zing. Once the centre is in place a subtle filler of Sprats Heads and Triangular Crescents are placed. Finally, a border is placed made up of the base colours of the centre “blades” to pull it all together.

This class will appeal to those students who would like to learn new techniques while challenging themselves by mastering complex canvaswork stitches.

Types of threads used: DMC #8 Perle Cotton, Kreinik #1/16″ Ribbon, Vineyard Silk Classic, Rainbow Gallery FyreWerks, Neon Rays+ and Petite Silk Lame Braid. Colours used: A variety of Jewel Tones of Red, Green, Purple, Orange and Blue.
