Circles of Life

I love Jessicas and this piece takes them to the Nth degree. I wanted to see how large of a Jessica I could make. I found out I can make them very large! Circles of Life started out as a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired piece, but quickly became a family sampler with various section representing many facets of my family. This piece is an advanced study into the versatility of the Jessica as well as a variety of laid filling and string art stitches. The piece also contains pattern darning, wrapped backstitches and is embellished with a few Crystals and Pearls. The entire piece is encased in a layered border that pulls everything together. This piece was designed using two of my favourite colour families – copper and turquoise with a hint of lavender and the right amount of “bling” to keep things interesting. This piece was awarded the Creative Inspiration Award at the 2019 ANG National Seminar in Houston in August 2019.

The size of this piece is10″ x 10″. This is a 4-Day class. Skill level: Advanced
