Making Waves
Making Waves is a counted canvaswork piece stitched on 18 count Mono White Opalescent canvas. The stitched size is 12″ x 8-3/8″. I wanted to do something different so I started with the Wavy Border and then the piece took on a life of its own. A variety of stitches are used including Fleur-de-Lis, Overlapping Jessicas, Sprats Head, Crescents, Starfles, Braided stitches and Trellis work. The piece is stitched using Vineyard Silk Classic, Finca #5 Perle Cotton, Colour Complements Overdyed Perle, Soy Luster, Silk Lame Braid Petite, DMC Perle Variations and a variety of Kreinik Metallics. The piece is further embellished with beads.
